About Research Platform Services

Research Platform Services delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at the University of Melbourne and its associated research precinct. Our computational platforms include High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) Computing environments. We operate over 8PB of computational and research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services. We also provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions. In addition, our group promotes innovative community building and educational activities aimed at maximising use and value of the digital tools and facilities for research and our researchers.

Research Platform Services contributes to the nationally eResearch infrastructure initiative supported by NCRIS - the Australian Research Data Commons (the combined Nectar, RDS and ANDS projects) and also operates the ARC-LIEF funded multi-Victorian University GPGPU cluster on behalf of its partners.

About the roles

Due to funding approvals, several fantastic opportunities have become available for self-starters with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build an understanding of the research community we serve.  These technical opportunities will ideally suit highly motivated individuals who thrive on finding solutions in a complex environment.  You will join an inquisitive and supportive team that enjoys working in an agile environment and responding to changing priorities.

  • Applications and Services Integration Specialist
  • Senior DevOpsHPC Engineer
  • DevOpsHPC Engineer x 2
