Research Administration Officer

  • 10 months fixed term position, full-time opportunity, remuneration package $96Kp.a which includes leave loading and superannuation

About the opportunity 

The Research Administration Officer will assist in providing administrative services, project and operational support to support the research activity and requirements for Professor Figtree and the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Health Research team at the Kolling Institute

You will be responsible for coordinating and providing administrative services and support for grant applications and ongoing reporting for the research team.

As a skilled Research Administrator Officer, you will be dealing every day with different stakeholders to achieve common goals, you will also coordinate and provide administrative services for ongoing reporting for the research team, including supporting in research data collection or general and financial administrative services.

  • Extensive experience in research administration, including budgeting and financial forecasting, grant proposal development, ethics submissions and project management
  • Knowledge in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, data analysis and reporting
  • Proficient time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively
  • Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes with keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated self-starting approach to work

The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team. They will be able to demonstrate ability to work under pressure with competing priorities. It’s primordial to have strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.

We are searching for individuals who are results oriented and able to handle rapidly changing priorities in a fast moving environment. You must be willing to extend yourself and take on new challenges with a ‘can do’ attitude.
