About the opportunity 

The Project and Research Officer – BABY1000 Study will progress the BABY1000 Study development and related projects, provide high level academic and administrative support and assist the work of the Project Leader, the Academic Director, Charles Perkins Centre, the Scientific and Management Committee and other relevant stakeholders.

The BABY1000 Study is a flagship project node at the CPC, crossing domain and theme boundaries, investigating the modifiable risks and interventions before and during pregnancy, and beyond, that contribute to the future development of ODCD and related disorders. https://sydney.edu.au/charles-perkins-centre/our-research/current-research/nutrition/baby1000.html

In this position, you will:

• manage the planning, establishment and implementation of the BABY1000 Study and coordinate the individual projects related to the Study
• develop briefing materials and other agenda items to be used by the Scientific and Management Committee and Advisory Board in its decisions
• support the Project Leader and Charles Perkins Centre Academic Director in approaching, or maintaining links with key research groups in this area, seeking advice on issues that will influence the decision making on the BABY1000 Study
• develop and manage effective working relationships with key University groups and service providers.

• PhD and / or equivalent relevant postgraduate research qualification
• significant experience and training in a health-related background and/or population studies and/or clinical trial
• demonstrated experience in literature searching, critical appraisal, synthesising evidence and generating conclusions
• skills in the use of research management and statistical software such as EndNote, SPSS, STATA, SAS or equivalent.
