About the opportunity 

The MRFF Development Manager will be accountable for developing and implementing university-wide strategies to optimise Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funding success. They will report to the Director, Research Development & Collaboration (RDC) in the Research Portfolio, and work closely with the Executive Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Health. The role will consult regularly with members of the University’s MRFF Strategy Group and leaders and senior researchers in the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH), the Faculty of Health Sciences and affiliated Medical Research Institutes (MRIs).

In this position, you will:

  • deliver and implement the University’s MRFF Strategy together with the MRFF Strategy Group
  • provide high level coordination and strategic advice to the MRFF Strategy Group, Director RDC and Executive Dean FMH
  • deliver strategic and technical support to groups of researchers applying for MRFF funding as well as heads of academic units, research leaders and research development advisors in faculties
  • reporting on MRFF activities and outcomes to the DVCR, faculties and MRIs.

  • appropriate academic qualification and/or extensive equivalent relevant experience in government or higher education relating to health and medical research
  • knowledge, experience and appreciation of health and medical research and the research sector broadly
  • demonstrated ability to engage effectively with researchers
  • track record in stakeholder management/engagement within university, research or government sectors
