About the opportunity
The Senior Technical Officer - Clinical Imaging is responsible for a range of tasks within Sydney Imaging Core Research Facility (CRF), including a full technical support and expert advice required during procurement, installation, and day-to-day operations of clinical imaging equipments such as MRI, fNIRS, and EEG. Working with vendors, the role provides high-level technical support for neuroscience research, primarily within the Brain and Mind Centre and Charles Perkins Centre.

The University is implementing several initiatives to achieve this goal, including launching the Sydney Research Excellence Initiative, which will finance our research infrastructure plan. The University’s Decadal Plan for Major Research Infrastructure sets out an ambitious program of rolling investment in Core Research Facilities over the next period that will benefit all of our faculties, including the natural and physical sciences, the life sciences, creative arts, the humanities and social sciences.
A Core Research Facility is a centralised, shared capability spanning multiple nodes, providing access to high-end research infrastructure and offering a range of related services to assist researchers with specialist applications. The facilities serve as focal points of research activity, bringing together a critical mass of researchers from diverse disciplines, while providing the means to better manage and sustain high-end research infrastructure to deliver quality research outcomes, particularly in areas of strategic priority. Sydney Imaging includes both Preclinical and Clinical imaging facilities, as well as the Hybrid Theatre. The mission of the Sydney Imaging CRF is to provide core set of state-of-the-art imaging equipment and associated services to researchers.
