  • 2 opportunities available for 3 year fixed term appointment. Base salary of $104K - $123K p.a. plus superannuation. An additional clinical loading will also be paid where eligible

About the opportunity 

The University of Sydney School of Dentistry is seeking to appoint 2 full time Lecturers in Orthodontics. The primary focus of the appointment will be to be clinically active with provision of orthodontic treatment to patients eligible to receive public dental services at the Sydney Dental Hospital as well as providing research and teaching support to the Department of Orthodontics.

The University of Sydney’s School of Dentistry offers a rigorous research and training program and produces research scholars of international standing and highly skilled general practice and specialist clinicians.

This appointment offers an outstanding opportunity to enhance research skills while enjoying outstanding research opportunities and support for professional development and will also give opportunity to deal and manage a large range of complex orthodontic patients from the public orthodontic waiting list at the Sydney Dental Hospital.

About you

  • a dental qualification that is registrable with the Dental Board of Australia, AHPRA
  • specialist Orthodontic qualification, recognized with the Dental Board of Australia, AHPRA
  • relevant postgraduate degree in Orthodontics
  • experience in providing specialist Orthodontic treatment to a wide spectrum of patients including children, patients with disabilities and people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • specialist clinical supervision experience in Orthodontics
  • demonstrable experience in a university or educational setting

Advanced teaching experience gained in a university or similar environment, preferably with adult learners and experience in facilitating problem-based learning (PBL) would be highly regarded.
