About the opportunity 

The Manager Programs and Disciplines is a varied and interesting role responsible for:

  • providing high-level operational management and expert advice to the Senior Manager Educational Services and the Faculty’s professional leadership team
  • leads and supports the professional and career development of all staff
  • general management of all teaching and student services delivered through Faculty programs and disciplines
  • leading and supporting the development and implementation of strategic initiatives including new education offerings across the Faculty
  • developing operational plans to guide the organisation and utilise workforce and operational resources to meet the priorities and objectives of the unit including making operational improvements and leveraging best practices
  • providing expert advice and guidance around the translation and implementation of relevant strategy, policy and planning within the Business School
  • ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls.

About you

  • postgraduate qualifications with relevant experience in operations management and business administration or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
  • proven expertise in the management of significant human resources
  • excellent leadership skills including flexibility and adaptability
  • strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills including developing and implementing strategic initiatives
  • experience designing and implementing work processes and utilising resources for effective service delivery
  • high level independence and team work skills
  • excellent time and workload management skills
  • highly developed communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • demonstrated experience in the leadership, training, mentoring and performance management of staff and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues
  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation.
