About the opportunity
The Research Assistant provides support and expertise to the Chief Investigator and the clinical trial team to support the research activity and/or clinical trial requirements for the research project. This primarily requires an active contribution to the Sydney Sleep Biobank project, which represents a large scale data collection in patients attending for overnight sleep studies across a number of participating sleep centres. Research activities will include writing ethics applications, undertaking core aspects of clinical trial work including patient recruitment, data collection and data entry.
The position is required to work regular afternoons/evenings in a sleep laboratory environment at one of three hospital based sleep centres (Royal North Shore, Royal Prince Alfred, and Westmead Hospitals).

Venepuncture certification and prior experience in sleep technology and / or research is desirable but not essential.

The Charles Perkins Centre Sleep Theme aims to reduce the societal burden of poor sleep behaviours and sleep disorders through a coordinated multidisciplinary program, with a focus on the links with obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
