About the opportunity 

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Orthodontics to join the faculty based in Surry Hills. The primary focus of the role will be to undertake research studies mainly in the field of Obstructive sleep apnoea and assist in applications for research grants under the guidance of the Chair in Orthodontics.

In this role you will:

• assist the Senior Academics in leading the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) course by providing research support
• provide research support to DClindent students
• contribute to integration of the Discipline’s research into the wider faculty focus areas
• lead research within topics such as paediatric Obstructive sleep apnoea and orthodontic management
• publish in recognised journals and acquire research grants.

• a dental qualification registrable in Australia,
• specialist dentist qualifications recognised in Australia and a PhD in a relevant area of health and/or health education
• experience in treatment of children and preferably paediatric dentistry
• have previous research experience in Paediatric Obstructive sleep apnoea

• knowledge and understanding of evidence-based dentistry
• capacity to devise research projects and to contribute to professional and scholarly literature

• experience in academic environment
• experience in dealing with managers within the health sector
• strong written and verbal communication skills.
