The Academic Lead, Course Enhancement will be actively involved in providing hands-on support to faculty staff, building capacity in the area of curriculum enhancement and offering specialist expertise in curriculum mapping, quality assurance, authentic assessment and learning design. The appointee will work collaboratively and consult with the Associate Dean, Programs, Associate Dean, Education, Heads of Discipline and the Curriculum Team in providing coherent support to Program Teams.

About you

  • engage in capacity building to lead, innovate, advise and support staff on teaching and learning matters, primarily curriculum mapping and quality assurance
  • provide specialist hands-on support for curriculum mapping, learning and assessment design, gathering and analysing course quality data including assurance of learning, advising on course enhancement options and produce teaching and learning resources
  • undertake research and publish in the area of teaching and learning in higher education
  • promote scholarship of teaching, learning and assessment in higher education.

To be a successful candidate you will possess:

  • a complete or near complete PhD in a relevant field
  • expertise in learning, teaching and assessment design for cloud and campus-based teaching and learning
  • expertise in course quality assurance and evidence-based curriculum planning and mapping including assurance of learning
  • a demonstrated ability to build the capacity of academic staff in teaching and learning and curriculum design  
  • excellent relationship building skills with students and colleagues to effect systemic change
  • experience designing and developing quality and engaging learning activities for university students with a focus on interactive and digital technologies
  • extensive knowledge of University, regulatory environment (TEQSA, threshold standards), accreditation requirements and assurance of learning processes
  • a research program including peer-reviewed publications, particularly in areas associated with learning and teaching, and assessment.
