About the opportunity 

The Research Officer takes a key role in performing primarily analytical (physicochemical and bioassay) and project management functions leading the development of pharmaceutical aerosol formulations in the Advanced Drug Delivery Group. This includes being responsible for experimental design, planning, conduct and data interpretation, and also providing technical leadership to research colleagues within the work area. The function will support new research collaborations in the Asia-Pacific region. Strong physicochemical analytic skills (HPLC, spectroscopy) and pharmaceutical background are preferred.

About you

  • at least 3 years of laboratory-based research experience. Postgraduate research experience is acceptable
  • a track record of research journal publications
  • extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications
  • experience in carrying out scientific literary searches, and preparing literary reviews for further analysis

Laboratory experience within vitro analytical techniques and previous experience in therapeutic drug formulation, aerosol pharmaceutics and/or scientific project management is highly desirable.

The Advanced Drug Delivery group in the Faculty of Pharmacy has an active research program on developing novel inhalation aerosol medicines with diverse global health benefit. The applicant will be accountable to the Professor of Pharmaceutics (Advanced Drug Delivery), and will work alongside other scientists in a collaborative laboratory setting.
