About the opportunity 
An opportunity has become available to work in the Sydney Informatics Hub, as a Data Science Research Engineer, working primarily on the NSW Vocational Education Reform Research Collaboration. In the role, you will develop and implement data science algorithms, software tools and data systems. In this partnership role, you will be examining how data science can help improve the operation and design of that States vocational education and training system. Bringing to the role advanced statistical expertise to assist with research design and the conduct of research projects associated with this collaboration, the incumbent will have an understanding of modern data science software and tools, from cloud computing to the many existing commercial products used for data analytics. The Data Science Research Engineer must be passionate about data science and what it could deliver across research and society. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, showing a willingness and enthusiasm to take results to the wider world.
