About the opportunity 

The Power Institute, Australia’s premier foundation for the promotion of art’s history and ideas, is looking for a skilled event and communications professional to coordinate the logistics of Power’s dynamic public program and to engage with a variety of audiences via various platforms.

As the Program and Events Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating the public program, hosting a range of high profile speakers for lectures, seminars and symposia, managing key partnerships with universities, galleries and donors, and developing the public face of the Institute through a range of online communications.

This position is a part-time position, working flexibly to a total of 2.5 days per week (with some evening work required), on a five-year fixed-term basis.

  • coordinating, promoting and delivering events, such as lectures, seminars and panel discussions

  • hosting talent, liaising and negotiating with speakers, industry partners and service providers
  • managing a flow of engaging multimedia content across various online and social platforms

Within the University, the Institute works closely with the Department of Art History in the School of Literature, Art and Media, which is one of five Schools in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as well as the University Art Museums. It also has ongoing partnerships with a range of galleries and tertiary institutions across Australia and internationally.
