  • 2.5 days per week fixed term for 12 months. Remuneration package of $84k pa (pro-rata), including annual leave loading and up to 17% Superannuation

About the opportunity 

The Project Administrator provides day-to-day administrative support for the implementation of programs and projects to support the LCT Centre for Knowledge-Building’s initiatives under the broad direction of the Centre Director. This includes assisting with the project management and coordination of projects, setting up databases, sourcing information, corresponding with project stakeholders and producing a variety of reports.

To be successful in the role of Project Administrator, you will possess:

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
  • Excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision.
  • Experience managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large or complex projects and the ability to develop/cultivate productive relationships with industry providers and key users.
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters.
  • Numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, and managing invoice payments and purchases for a project.

Prior experience working in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organization will be highly regarded.

The LCT Centre for Knowledge-Building is a new research centre dedicated to Legitimation Code Theory or ‘LCT’, an innovative, multidisciplinary and rapidly-growing approach motivated by social justice and knowledge-building that is based in the School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS). SSPS sits within the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and offers innovative degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that attract the very best students from Australia and overseas. SSPS is the focus for the strategic development of the social sciences at Sydney with a view to becoming Australia’s leading centre for research and teaching in the area.
