About the opportunity
Sydney Nursing School belongs to a research intensive university and sits within the University of Sydney’s Division of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, enabling both staff and students to experience the multiple aspects of the Australian Health care system within a global context.
Sydney Nursing School’s main academic activities are teaching, research and scholarship, together with practice and policy development and engagement with all health professions. We also provide advice and consultancy across many key areas of nursing and midwifery.
The focus of our scholarship is to improve health outcomes, the quality of care, and the health related experience of people at times of vulnerability. Our educational philosophy guides all aspects of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Our pedagogic approach emphasises research-led teaching. We also recognise and respect our students as active, adult learners who join us in order that they may develop the competencies and capabilities for clinical practice and research.
The Research Assistant will provide technical and operational support to the research team in studies relating to obesity prevention. This includes preparing ethics applications, online surveys, conducting interviews, data collection and analysis and write up of the results. As the successful applicant, you will be expected to coordinate the activities associated with the projects and work towards ensuring that the studies runs smoothly.
