About the opportunity
The Kolling Institute of Medical Research is the major biomedical research institute at the Royal North Shore Hospital and is a joint venture with the University of Sydney. It has over 200 staff and students in a number of major research divisions. The position is based in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Health Research Laboratory, with laboratories located on level 12 of the Kolling Building.
Reporting to Professor Gemma Figtree, the Research Administration Officer will provide administrative services, project and operational support to the research activities and requirements for the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Health Research team at the Kolling Institute. The team spans multiple disciplines from molecular biology, physiology, bioengineering, to clinical trials, and work closely with collaborators in cardiovascular research across Sydney Health Partners and the University. Your duties will include coordinating grant applications and submissions, preparing compliance reporting and storing data that is collected from research projects for further analysis. You will be responsible for providing project management support to a work stream within a multi-faceted program of work, developing and implementing plans, managing project financials and preparing status reports in line with broader project governance requirements. You will manage work-stream stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and team-work with other project teams and stakeholders across the University.
