About the opportunity 

The School of Psychology was the first established Psychology department in Australia. It is currently one of the largest and has a proud history of excellence that characterises all of its research and educational activities. Sustained increases in research funding and strong enrolments have facilitated a rapid growth in our staffing and research profile.

The Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic was established in 1999 and has consistently been a leader in gambling treatment and research. It forms part of the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney and is embedded in the University’s Brain and Mind Centre. The clinic offers free, confidential, face-to-face counselling at five locations in the greater Sydney region. The clinic further aims to plan, conduct, and disseminate high quality research on gambling, and maintains an active role in the training and education of both new and experienced clinicians in the gambling treatment sector.

In this position, you will:

  • conduct high-level statistical analysis and prepares preliminary reports
  • contribute to the design of research program/project
  • conduct research work as part of the broader Research agenda
  • manage the development and submission of research publications.

  • demonstrated expertise in high level statistical analyses
  • extensive experience in developing and working on research projects
  • experience in carrying out scientific literary searches, and preparing literary reviews for further analysis
  • working understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy.
