About the opportunity 

Reporting to the Executive Officer, you are responsible for the provision of administrative services to support research data collection and reporting for the school. This includes coordinating data collections for the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) and the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA).  You will provide administrative services and support for grant applications including coordination and submission of research applications. In addition to providing the administration support you will also communicate all information regarding the research with the internal colleagues and ensure that research information for the School is up to date.

To be considered, you will possess:

  • tertiary qualifications likely with honours in appropriate discipline with relevant experience in related field
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • advanced skills data analysis, using statistical analysis tools, and reporting on research findings.
