Applications are invited for two new professorial appointments in education at the University of Sydney.

The Faculty of Education and Social work is an international and national leader in education, social work and social policy, demonstrating excellence in professional education and a rigorous research-informed understanding of the social, political and cultural contexts of education, social work and social policy. Members of the faculty critically engage theory, policy and practice in ways designed to transform communities and individual lives.

The Faculty of Education and Social Work is currently one of 16 faculties at the University. In 2017, it will become the Sydney School of Education and Social Work within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to work towards the vision outlined in the University’s new 2016-20 Strategic Plan. This is your opportunity to be part of this exciting new future by joining a world-class community of scholars and leading excellence in research and teaching in your area of expertise. You will lead scholarship in your discipline both within the academic setting as well as across community, professional, commercial or industrial sectors, and work collegially to secure competitive research grants and further build your strong publication record in high status and impactful outlets.

Your international recognition for original, innovative and distinguished contributions to teaching, scholarship and research in any field of education will be highly regarded, and we welcome applications from candidates with strengths in one or more of the following areas:

  • curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
  • educational leadership
  • educational psychology
  • quantitative research methods
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

Term

The successful applicant will be offered a continuing appointment. A competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicants.
