The Research Development Manager primarily develops and supports the research functions of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Research), this role is responsible for the general management of all operational aspects of the research work being undertaken, including planning, funding and delivery of research to meet the Faculty’s research objectives. Drawing on their expertise in research, the incumbent will play an active role in research study and design, ethics approvals, research commercialisation, liaising with key stakeholders, managing the research team, etc.

Reporting to the Faculty Manager you will:

  • provide effective program management for the research being undertaken by the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • support the strategic direction of the research plan of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • provide financial management and funding oversight for research programs in the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning

Position requirements include:

  • extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications
  • experience in initiating and developing projects and delivering high level research administration and support including collecting data, database maintenance, providing advice and improving policy and procedures
  • financial management experience and literacy, experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure.

Remuneration package: $116,059 - $130,888 p.a. (which includes a base salary Level 8 $98,071 - $110,602 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
