The Work Integrated Learning portfolio consists of academic staff and administrators working across the disciplines of Medical Radiation Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Exercise and Sports Science, Rehabilitation Counselling and Physiotherapy. With clinical education occupying up to 38 percent of programs, the faculty has reformed some of its practices in work integrated education with an increased focus on improving quality, integrating clinical education more seamlessly into the overall curriculum, increasing the number and types of clinical and preclinical experiences and developing richer partnerships with a range of health providers.

The Professor of Work-based Education is a high level position within the faculty and requires the incumbent to serve a term as Associate Dean, Work Integrated Learning. The Professor of Work-based Education will set the direction of the clinical education programs and shape the faculty’s professional curriculum. In addition, a substantial component of the position will be to build on the scholarly work in this area thus maintaining the faculty’s position as a leader in the understanding of the field of health education. As Professor, you will also play a role in securing grants and in managing the research and scholarly contribution of the clinical staff.

You will have high level knowledge of educational issues and expertise in work integrated learning; a substantial publication record in work integrated education; demonstrated history of having devised research projects; and secured competitive grants in work-based placements/work integrated education or clinical education specifically. You will also have considerable successful experience in academic leadership and management of staff as well as the academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the Professor level.

Term

The position is full-time continuing, and may be subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. A salary package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position will be negotiated. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
