We are currently inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biomedical Engineering in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering. The position will be jointly located in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Link Building and the Charles Perkins Centre for obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Both centres are located on the Camperdown Campus.

The emphasis will be on the application and development of systems and technologies for the management of sleep-disordered breathing in chronic disease, and is part of the activities of the newly established sleep disorders group headed by the ResMed Chair of Biomedical Engineering. The role will involve design and development of novel sensors for sleep monitoring as well as development of expert systems for analysis of signals. You will take a lead role in achieving the research goals of the group. You will also be involved in industry engagement with leading Australian biomedical companies such as ResMed, as well as engagement with leading sleep centres at the Woolcock Institute, Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore hospitals.

To be successful in the position you will have a PhD in Engineering, or a related discipline. You will also have excellent proven skills in the fields of signal processing, pattern recognition and very good skills in biomedical sensor electronics. Experience working with polysomnogram signals would be an advantage, as would experience working with industry partners.

Remuneration package: $98,053 p.a. (which includes a base salary of $82,856 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
