South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) provides research and development services to the state government, commercial clients and research partners to help make South Australia’s primary industries and regions internationally competitive and ecologically sustainable. SARDI’s programs are designed to increase the productivity, sustainability and adaptability of the state’s agriculture, food and wine, fisheries and aquaculture and bioscience enterprises, create opportunities for market growth, address barriers to growth and provide applied solutions.

The Technical Officer - N Fixation plays a key role in the efficient delivery of high quality results for the Rhizobium Biology and Nitrogen Fixation group. The Technical Officer is responsible for assisting with the setup and management of laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments. Duties will include the preparation of experimental materials, the harvest and measurement of legume samples and preparation of materials for analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS

An appropriate science qualification, preferably at a tertiary level, or equivalent in an appropriate technical discipline is required.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

This is a part time contract / term vacancy up to 30/06/2019, working 30 hours per fortnight. Possession of a current driver’s licence and a willingness to drive is required. Out of hours work may be required on occasion. The incumbent will be exposed on a regular basis to allergens.
