About the role

The Strategy and Research Division works collaboratively to support the development and delivery of WorkSafe’s Strategy, with a focus on organisational alignment ensuring we have an enterprise view of progress. The Research team facilitates research and gathers evidence and insights to inform strategy development and guide the delivery of strategic initiatives, as well as evaluating outcomes

The role of the Research Coordinator is to provide process and technical support for all research, procurement, and finance related activities. The role supports the coordination of research and communication activities including CheckPoint system support, business planning, contract management and reporting requirements.  This role will be the first point of contact for stakeholders to raise queries and supports communication of research outcomes.

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Provide support to the research team and internal stakeholders for the development of research programs and initiatives, including advising on processes and practices for initiating research and application requirements in order to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining the research team processes, templates and artefacts while ensuring governance standards are maintained.
  • Contribute support to the real time feedback platform, including loading surveys, providing access to the platform, and assisting the Research Advisor VoC and Research Lead with the successful running of the feedback platform. 
  • Provide direction and advice on requirements of initiatives to external stakeholders who undertake research on behalf of WorkSafe Victoria.
  • Coordinates planning team events and workshops in collaboration with senior research team to deliver research outcomes for the business.

About you

As a Research Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the coordination and execution of research projects within our organization. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of researchers, supporting them in various aspects of research planning, implementation, and analysis. This is a dynamic and rewarding position that requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for communicating high-quality research outcomes.

You will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume coordination role.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with key internal stakeholders and research providers.
  • Strong commitment to promoting and encouraging continuous improvement within a team environment, for the delivery of accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Experience in the preparation of presentations, reports, and documenting of processes
  • Demonstrated time management, prioritisation, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in finance and/or procurement purchasing and systems background with proficiency across finance, procurement and project management systems or the ability to learn new systems quickly eg Oracle, JIRA, real time feedback platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as providing support to the broader team.
