Exciting defence R&D senior executive role
 

South Australia is establishing the Defence Innovation Partnership, a new organisation that will generate defence-related research and development activity for the state. This is a partnership between the South Australian Government, the Defence Science and Technology Group, University of Adelaide, Flinders University and the University of South Australia. The objectives are to provide a focal point for defence-related research partnerships across government, industry and academia, increase South Australia’s involvement in providing future technologies and ensure greater competitiveness for large Defence projects.

This is a key role in raising the defence R&D profile of South Australia. The Director, Defence Innovation Partnership will provide executive and strategic leadership to identify, facilitate and support collaborative defence R&D and commercialisation activities in South Australia.

With a degree or higher level qualification in science, technology, engineering or related discipline, the successful candidate will have an outstanding record of achievement at senior management level in a research organisation or the defence industry sector. Proven ability to work successfully with senior boards, key stakeholders and team members, as well as strategic thinking and planning skills combined with strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
