A new study has assessed how attractive men find a women's body odour.

The researchers found that appreciation is linked to levels of reproductive hormones.

The small study asked 57 men to smell body odour (BO) from the armpits of 28 women, and found that the men largely agreed on which odours were more attractive.

Interestingly, a woman’s body odour attractiveness was related to her reproductive hormones.

The higher a woman’s levels of oestradiol and the lower her levels of progesterone, the more attractive her body odour was rated.

These findings provide evidence that body odour acts as a valid cue to potential fertility.
